Shelly Nicolle-Phillips | Regina, SK
Shelly Nicolle-Phillips currently lives in Regina, SK and was born and raised in Prince Edward Island. Shelly taught herself the craft of rug hooking in 2015, inspired by the many rugs that were hooked by her grandmother and the long tradition of hooking in the Maritimes. She started Hooke On The Prairies in 2016 to share her art with others. Her art is a mix of traditional primitive rug hooking designs and more modern pieces, including many landscapes inspired by the prairies.
The depth and texture in her work is achieved using a wide variety of colours and textures of wool with other materials such as silk used to accent her designs.
