Noreen Rapin | Saskatoon, SK

Noreen was born and raised on a family farm northwest of Prince Albert, SK, and moved to Saskatoon to pursue her studies in Medical Laboratory Technology.  She worked at the U of S her entire career as a Research Technician and now has recently retired.  Together with her husband Phil, they raised 3 children and enjoy many of the activities/sports that Saskatchewan has to offer, including spending time at their cabin at Candle Lake.

Since she was a young girl, Noreen had a love of sewing, which was a skill she learned from her mother, Annette, who was a master seamstress.  The Canadian Mitten Company began as a small project when Noreen made a few pairs of mittens for close family members as gifts, then was encouraged to take it further to craft sales.  Ten years later, she has made thousands of pairs of mittens, each pair unique.  Noreen loves to source out unwanted sweaters, vintage buttons, and fleece blankets – then turn them into creative, one-of-a-kind works of art which serve a very useful purpose while navigating through our Canadian winters.
