Kristin MacPherson | Regina, SK

MEDIUMS:
Wall  Art

As a young child growing up in Bethune, Saskatchewan, Kristin was immersed in the family’s devotion to the arts.  Witnessing adults constantly creating and appreciating the arts, she developed a desire to create beautiful things that could be appreciated.

Kristin spent 2 years at Medicine Hat College exploring graphic arts, followed with 2 years at SIAST Regina Campus.  She graduated from SIAST’s Applied Photography program in 1997.  Marriage in 1997, and the birth of 3 daughters slowed the art production but failed to extinguish the need to create.  In 2008, Kristin began working as a commercial photography assistant with her friend and mentor, Greg Huszar – which brought her back into a creative career full-time.  A 2010 experimental acrylics course at the Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre enabled Kristin to rediscover her love of paint and develop her own modernist style.

Kristin currently owns and operates Kristin MacPherson Studio in Regina, Saskatchewan.  She is using her varied experience within the arts to create custom commissioned portraiture for her clients.  Her work is held in many private collections throughout the province.  In 2014, she became a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
