Jeffrey Taylor, owner of Newschool Arts, has been honing his craft as a potter since 1997 in his character home/studio – a converted 1928 schoolhouse in Duval, Saskatchewan. He first encountered pottery in Grade 12 at a boarding school in Caronport, SK and later studied in the Fine Arts Program at Red Deer College in Alberta. After settling back in Saskatchewan, Jeffrey got involved with the SK Craft Council and sat on the board for several years.  He is also a founding member of The Last Mountain Artists’ Collective and Regina Art Collective.

Serving up dishes for everyday use, Jeff is well known for touchable textures, bold colours and unusual patterns, resulting in unique functional art. He has worked especially hard at designing dripless teapots with secure lids that won’t tip out and special handles for easier lifting and pouring.

In 2010 Jeffrey married Nadia who now helps with business operations, the various stages that follow throwing and is learning the craft as they manage Newschool Arts together. The Taylors occasionally host creative retreats, arts forums, and hold two open houses per year in July and November.
