It is the combination of the colours, curves and shadows of nature, spirit and history that drew Jeannette into the world of art - in both a visual and literal sense. The intensity that she finds when looking beyond the ‘familiar’ inspires her to paint. “I don’t want to just paint what I see, I want to incorporate a message of peace and celebration”.
Her unique ways of producing her work onto tiles come from her own design. She first paints her art on canvas using oils or acrylics. When the piece is finished, it is scanned and put onto a disc. She then uses a process called colour sublimation - which uses high heat and pressure - to create her images onto tile. Each tile is colour-corrected and hand-pressed by the artist.
