Primarily a doll maker, Hally also draws and does vintage-style children’s portrait photography. Her doll making journey began several years ago when she enrolled in classes in hand-painting and assembling reproductions of antique bisque dolls (often referred to as porcelain dolls). From there her interest turned to making original one of-a-kind (OOAK) historically costumed cloth dolls as well as traditional and articulated paper dolls. Always looking for new and exciting challenges, Hally has ventured into making OOAK hand-painted primitive-style cloth dolls and has also begun to mix clay and cloth in the making of OOAK art dolls. Hally’s primitive dolls are sold exclusively through Traditions. She endeavours to impart a sense of whimsy in these dolls that she hopes will appeal to our sense of playfulness and the child in all of us. Hally’s other dolls may be found on Etsy under her shop “Creative Doll Works.”
