Beth Crabb | Moose Jaw, SK
Beth started weaving with reed in 1991 at Crete, Nebraska, and learned willow weaving in Saskatchewan. She is largely self-taught and enjoys creating her own designs. Her work in watercolour and clay influence the development of her unique style. As well, she enjoys creating abstract wall weavings in a variety of styles and colours – often incorporating found wood, shells, and yarn for textural interest.
Beth has been teaching basketry since 2000, and in 2007 she was selected as one of three artists to represent Moose Jaw in Ottawa on July 1st to celebrate Moose Jaw as one of the Cultural Capitals of Canada. A juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council, her weavings are in collections across Canada.
