Arlette is a self-taught artist whose creative time occurs in the wee hours of the morning. Keeping a flock of sheep and several working dogs equates to daily work outdoors, plus companionship amidst the quiet solitude. This livelihood provides ample experience with her subject matter, and the privileged moments and conversations with nature is what fuels her artwork. Creating artwork, in turn, fosters her appreciation of the vast web of connections between land, and animal, and human.
