I have always loved creating things. As a young girl I would sit in my grandma’s pottery studio and play with scraps of clay as I watched her work at the wheel. Years later I asked her for a pottery lesson and I fell in love with clay. My passion is bringing a piece of raw clay through the process of becoming a functional piece of art. I have no employees, all of my pieces are made by me from start to finish. I love how endless the possibilities are with clay; I can form it into whatever I please. It is forgiving. There aren’t many mediums of art that allow the artist to continually be changing the shape of the piece throughout the entire process while still maintaining the original material. My goal when making pottery is that when someone picks up one of my mugs, that it feels good in their hand. I truly believe that something handmade by someone who loves what they do will feel better than something that is made in a factory or mass produced by machines. My pottery is inspired by life, and that’s why I make sure that it can be used in everyday life so that my customers can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.
