Matt Brown grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and moved to the small town of Lumsden in 2007 to raise his young family in a place where the natural world would always be within their grasp ... or on really cold days, just outside their window! Matt is an elementary school principal by day, and a woodworker by night. Growing up in a creative environment, Matt’s passion for art began in childhood. Carpentry and crafting allows Matt the opportunity to consolidate his love for creative expression, the outdoors, writing, and family. Driftwood Designs was created after Matt became captivated by the uniqueness and beauty of driftwood while on a family camping trip. Soon after, Matt began crafting a number of items from both driftwood and other eye-catching woods like Rosewood, Spalted Maple, and Zebrawood. His creations are a reminder that there is a magnifcience in simplicity and it is Matt’s hope that his art will allow him to share his message with others.
